TransAmerica Trail 2013

AH CO Water Crossing

Here you will find my log for the 2013 TransAmerica Trail. I Left Colorado in June 2013. I picked up my dad’s motorcycle in Connecticut and departed for Maggie Valley, NC in early July.

There I led helped to lead rides for RoadRUNNER Magazine’s annual event. The ride began on July 15, 2013. I rode solo back to Colorado.

I then took a brief maintenance break and attended a Bruno Mars concert at Red Rocks, front row! Some call it a bribe, I call it a much-deserved thank you to my very understanding wife.

During the second month, I connected with a new riding partner, Luke Swab. Captain Luke Swab actually! You can still find him writing for RoadRUNNER magazine. In addition, he is now the host of The People of Chattanooga. He was an invaluable partner and a truly great human being. I am truly better for having the chance to get to know him

Many of my reports were originally written for RoadRUNNER. I also provided two feature articles of the trip for the magazine. The trip reports are no longer online, so I am sharing them here. Or just click the link at the top of the page. The feature articles can be found by clicking on the covers below.
