As Tom Petty says, the waiting is the hardest part. Just like my 40-40-40 ride the time part makes me anxious. I am more of an explorer. A discover of places while not new are new to me.
Delaying my trip this morning was part of trying to game the time required to finish an iron butt (1000 miles in 24 hours). In occurred to me late last night. Leaving at 5a and having to be done by the following day at 5a might require me to get up and ride around midnight. No thank you.
Instead I decided to delay until 10:30a. After being up since 4a, last minute prep 20 minutes of stretching I can’t sit around anymore. I need to be riding so I am packing the bike and hope to be on the road by 9:30a!
