In 2008 I had the opportunity to take part in a week long Leadership Program hosted by Center for Creative Leadership in Colorado Springs. Among the perks was getting to stay at the beautiful Broadmoor Hotel.
This perk was a close second to the wonderful riding available to me at the of each class day, before returning to the beautiful Broadmoor Hotel and its culinary delights.
At the end of the week, the young Hermits and Adventure Mom came to visit me. We attemped to scale Pikes Peak via the Cog Railway system, but snow limited us to scaling only half of the famous mountain.
After enjoying a family night at the Broadmoor, I got up early the next day to take an extended detour home. I headed down historic Gold Camp Road past The Broadmoor stables before heading to the old mining town of Victor. Finally, I came back through Canyon City and finally road over top Skyline Drive!
All in all, it was a great way to break in my relatively new beemer, and pushed me over my first 1000 miles on the bike!
